A World Without Men (PG 13) - Movie

A World Without Men ( 80 min) is a look at life from the perspective of fun house mirrors. Sometimes bigger than life, sometimes at an odd angle, full of unexpected turns, this dark dramedy is populated by oddball characters. Dr. Xaviera Royt, a radical, lesbian feminist has developed the X minus Y virus - those infected are unable to reproduce males. She persuades her beautiful, young lover, Tina, to get infected and spread the virus... to men!. Jill, a straight, graduate student at Royt's Institute of Bio-Feminism needs to be dominated in order to be satisfied by men who are missing body parts. Her lover, Adrian, happily supports his partner in her sexual" explorations," playing the role of the sleazy, one-armed seducer "Guido," or the "all powerful King Adrian." But Jill finally meets the man who can really satisfy her strange desires - Guy ( who is undergoing a sex change operation so that he could steal away the man who stole his girlfriend ). We meet Dr. Merlin - Jill's psychiatrist who decides to surprise her in the middle of a session. The stories intertwine as they all make sacrifices to their particular gods. Royt sacrifices her lover. Tina is willing to abandon Royt. Guy, literally, makes sacrifices to an ancient and increasingly more demanding god. And Jill is ready to sacrifice everything to feel happy and fulfilled.
